Dear Friends,
Over the next two weeks we will be receiving
three (3) priests to assist us here in the parish! The
first is Fr Hector Adriano Restrepo, a priest from the
diocese of Medillin in Colombia. Fr Adriano (the
name he prefers to be called) will be assigned as a full
time parochial vicar here at Saint Bartholomew. You
will see him at the masses in English and Spanish. Father’s first language is Spanish but he can also speak
English. He’s ordained 23 years a priest and is very
eager to begin working hard here in our parish.
When you see him please give him a warm welcome!
Fr Humberto Bravo is returning to be with us
until the end of August. He is a Salesian priest who
teaches Psychology at their Pontifical University in
Rome. Fr Humberto was very helpful last summer in
giving seminars and spending time listening to people
during the week in the office. He will be doing the
same this year! Every Wednesday evening in August
he will offer seminars in Spanish with themes on the
family. He will also be available for private consultations during the week. Welcome back—Fr Humberto!
Finally, Fr Sean Suckiel will assist us with
masses during the month of August. You remember
him as a deacon here in our parish 3 years ago. Now,
he is the new vocation director of the diocese! He’s a
wonderful presence and great homilist. You will see
him at many of our English masses.
Queridos Amigos,
¡Durante las próximas dos semanas estaremos
recibiendo tres (3) sacerdotes para ayudarnos aquí en
la parroquia! El primero es el P. Héctor Adriano
Restrepo, sacerdote de la diócesis de Medellín en
Colombia. Don Adriano (el nombre con el que
prefiere ser llamado) será asignado como vicario
parroquial tiempo completo aquí en San Bartolomé.
Van a verlo en las Misas en inglés y español. El primer
idioma del padre es español, pero también puede
hablar Inglés. Él fue ordenado a los 23 años como
sacerdote y está muy ansioso por empezar a trabajar
arduo aquí en nuestra parroquia. Cuando lo vean por
favor, ¡denle una cálida bienvenida!
El P. Humberto Bravo vuelve a estar con
nosotros hasta fines de agosto. Él es un sacerdote
salesiano que enseña psicología en la Universidad
Pontificia en Roma. El P. Humberto fue muy amable el
verano pasado dando seminarios y pasando el tiempo
escuchando a la gente durante la semana en la
oficina. ¡Él va a hacer lo mismo este año! Todos
los miércoles por la noche en agosto ofrecerá
seminarios en español con temas sobre la familia.
También estará disponible para consultas privadas durante la semana. ¡Bienvenido de nuevo, P. Humberto!
Por último, el P. Sean Suckiel nos ayudará con
las Misas durante el mes de agosto. Uds. lo recuerdan
como diácono aquí en nuestra parroquia hace
3 años. ¡Ahora, él es el nuevo director de vocaciones
de la diócesis! Es una presencia maravillosa y
un gran predicador. Van a verlo en muchas de
nuestras Misas en inglés.
We are blessed to welcome all these priests to
our parish. While it is summer—activity does not
stop here at St. Bart’s! All of our groups and movements are still meeting as well as our Social Ministry
on Wednesday mornings and all day Exposition on
Thursdays. Truly the Lord continues to bless us!

documents be registered and be active members of St
Bartholomew Parish. We can not give any of these
documents to persons not registered in the parish.

MISSION APPEAL: Next Sunday we will welcome a PEDIDO PARA UNA MISIÓN: El próximo domingo le daremos la
Salesian Sister who will speak to us about the work of her
community in spreading the Catholic faith in sometimes
difficult situations. The second collection next Sunday
will go to assist the Salesian Sisters in these important
efforts. A special envelope has been included in the
envelope packet received by our registered parishioners.

PRAYERS REQUESTED: Father Jack Replogle, Sj our Sunday assistant, recently underwent surgery on his back and is now
recovering. He will probably return to us sometime towards the end of August. If you would like to send correspondence to
Fr Replogle, please bring it to the rectory in care of Fr Rick. In the meantime, lets pray for Fr. Replogle's full and speedy recovery.

The Share to our Parish
We are pleased to remind you that 50% of all funds raised
will be returned directly to St. Bartholomew Church for our
own parish needs. This money has been earmarked for much
needed capital improvements and enhancements to our church,
such as the church exterior: As with all properties, after years
of exposure to the elements, our church roof is in need of
renovation. We will also be using the funds from this campaign
to install air-conditioning in the church.

In the past few months, St. Barts has raised more
than $300,000 from 4% of our parish community
towards our goal of $940,000. Weare grateful for
our current donors and invite each and every household to contribute to the success of this initiative in
a manner appropriate for them. It is our goal to receive a prayerful decision from every parish household.
