THE VIDEO LINK. QUESTIONS 1. Why did Greta Thunberg start to be concerned about climate change? When she was between 8 and 9 years old, the teachers at school taught her about climate change and the impact that human beings have on it. The teacher showed them photos and films where they could see the serious impact of climate change and its threat existential. For this reason, she felt very worried and scared about this environmental crisis, therefore she began to investigate further through films, articles and films and discovered that the planet was seriously affected and that if we did not start to act quickly it could affect in the future. Thanks to the fact that she has encouraged the importance of each person contributing to the care of environmental change and not affecting it negatively, the environment has been improving over time and more people, including children and adults, are becoming aware of the climate crisis. that can happen or get worse if we don't make the change now. She became the best climate change campaign manager in the United States. 2. What have her parents changed to support her ideas? Her parents didn't really agree with her trying to do something about climate change, they told her that there was nothing she could do to change it. She felt more support at school than from the parents themselves. She began to make the children aware of the importance of contributing their grain of sand regarding the effects of climate change. She showed them videos and articles more and more until they managed to change her position. After time they became vegan, they became more interested in the threat we received from climate change, the importance of each of us contributing in time and then they began to support him in the change he wanted to make regarding the environmental crisis. 3. Have you noticed any change in the environment of your region? Mention some of them. As for Colombia, we are in a serious environmental situation, climate change is fatally affecting the planet, for example “el fenomeno del niño” is what is affecting the most at the moment, high levels of temperature are occurring that are causing the lakes to dry up generating drought, another is environmental pollution due to the use of cars, buses, trucks, this strongly impacts the ozone layer and each time the air we breathe is more contaminated and this is thanks to the fact that we do nothing to change it, this is why we must make people aware of the serious damage we are causing and where we do not start acting now, in the future we will suffer the consequences on the planet and it may even become uninhabitable.
