No, don’t click that mouse. Don’t touch that keyboard. Use only your eyes. Look at what you need. Simply, use your eyes to show the computer what you want. Is this possible? Not yet, but scientists at Imperial College in London are working on a new form of technology called eye tracking. These scientists are studying how the human eye moves when a person sees something. According to the researcher, Professor Yang, eye tracking can make communication between people and machines easier. In the future, scientists want to use the technology of eye tracking to help doctors in surgery. They also plan to use eye tracking to warn sleepy drivers so they don’t cause an accident. Hunting and global warming is partly responsible for this, but the main reason is pollution. The wind blows plastic bags, plastic bottles and balloons into the sea. Sea animals and birds eat the plastic because they think it is food. If they eat too much plastic, it can kill them. There are millions of plastic bags in the seas and oceans around the world. The plastic looks like jellyfish, the favourite food of many sea animals. Balloons are a problem, too. Birds see their bright colours and mistake them for food. Almost every sea bird in the world has got some plastic rubbish inside its stomach. Sharp pieces of plastic sometimes cut the birds’ small stomachs. Toxic substances in the plastic can poison the birds and kill them. About 1,000,000 sea birds and 100,000 other sea animals die every year because of plastic pollution. So, make sure you throw all your plastic rubbish into a bin! T F 1. Sea animals and birds are in danger mostly because of hunting. 2. Millions of plastic bags pollute the sea. 3.
