Dear Parents,
I trust that you have had time to relax, enjoy your family and friends, and that you are ready to begin the school year. Our
teachers have worked this summer to learn new and powerful teaching strategies for your children. We also have
activities planned to keep parents informed and offer learning opportunities for our families.
One way to keep you abreast of RUSD and Beatty’s policies and procedures is to provide you with written information.
This packet contains very important information from the school district and our school. It is critical that you read and
review its contents with your child. You will find the answers to many questions that you may have or that may come up
during the school year.
I would especially like to encourage you to review the RUSD Parent Handbook. You can find a copy of this handbook on
the RUSD website at http://www.rusdlink.org/Page/2888. This booklet includes important information about Riverside
Unified School District policies and procedures, our programs, and the rules by which all students must abide. Please
review the information with your child. It is our expectation that our students know and follow them.
The packet inserts include the STUDENT EMERGENCY INFORMATION, SCHOOL INFORMATION FOR
STUDENTS AND PARENTS HANDBOOK 2016-2017, STUDENT RESIDENCY QUESTIONNAIRE, and the
MILES OF SMILES CONSENT forms which must be signed by you and then returned to the school as soon as
possible. Our office staff members must be able to contact people who are available in case of emergencies. Phone
numbers must be current on your child’s emergency cards. There is nothing more frightening than having a child who is
injured or very ill at school and we cannot reach anyone on the child's emergency card. Remember to notify the office
throughout the year if there are any changes in phone numbers, email addresses, or changes to the list of people
authorized to pick up your child. Safety is a priority and we will not release students to unauthorized adults.
Attendance is of the utmost importance in attaining a quality education. Your support in getting students to school
consistently and on time is appreciated. Additionally, safe procedures dictate that our responsibility for supervising your
child begins at 7:50 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. daily (1:25 p.m. on Wednesdays). It is important that you adhere to our
supervision guidelines and make plans for dropping off and picking up your children in a timely manner.
Thank you for entrusting us with your wonderful children. We value the opportunity to work collaboratively with you
and look forward to enriching our students’ lives through quality educational experiences. Join us at Back to School
Night, September 1st from 6 – 7:00 p.m.

Estimados Padres de Familia,
El comienzo de un nuevo año escolar se acerca rápidamente. Puedo confiar en que haya tenido tiempo para relajarse, disfrutar de su
familia y amigos, y que ya está listo para comenzar el año escolar. Nuestros maestros han trabajado este verano para aprender nuevas
y poderosas estrategias de enseñanza para sus hijos. También tenemos actividades planeadas para mantener informados a los padres y
ofrecer oportunidades de aprendizaje para nuestras familias.
Una forma de mantenerse al tanto de las políticas y procedimientos del distrito (RUSD) y de Beatty es proporcionándole información
escrita. Este paquete contiene información muy importante del distrito escolar y la escuela. Es muy importante que lea y revise su
contenido con su hijo. Va a encontrar las respuestas a muchas preguntas que usted pueda tener o que puedan surgir durante el año
escolar.
En especial me gustaría llamar su atención a que repase el Manual para Padres. Puede encontrar una copia de este manual en la página

Unificado Escolar de Riverside y procedimientos, nuestros programas y las reglas por las que todos los estudiantes deben seguir. Por
favor, revise la información con su hijo. Es nuestra expectativa de que nuestros estudiantes las conozcan y las sigan.
El paquete incluye las formas INFORMACION ESTUDIANTIAL DE EMERGENCIA, MANUAL DE INFORMACIÓN
ESCOLAR PARA PADRES Y ALUMNOS 2016-2017, CUESTIONARIO DE RESIDENCIA PARA ESTUDIANTES y el
CONSENTIMIENTO DE PADRES PARA EL PROGRAMA MILLAS DE SONRISAS (MILES OF SMILES) que deben ser
firmados por usted y regresarlos a la escuela tan pronto como sea posible. Nuestro personal de oficina debe poder ponerse en contacto
con personas que están disponibles en caso de emergencia, los números de teléfono deben estár al día en las tarjetas de emergencia.
No hay nada más aterrador que tener un hijo que está lesionado o muy enfermo en la escuela y no podemos contactar una persona en
la tarjeta de emergencia del niño. Recuerde de notificar a la oficina durante todo el año si hay algún cambio en los números de
teléfono, direcciones de correo electrónico, o cambios en la lista de las personas autorizadas para recoger a su hijo. La seguridad es
una prioridad y no vamos a permitir que los salgan con adultos que no están autorizados.
La asistencia es de suma importancia en la consecución de una educación de calidad. Su apoyo en lograr que los estudiantes asistan la
escuela consistentemente y a tiempo es apreciado. Además, los procedimientos de seguridad dictan que nuestra responsabilidad de
supervisar a su hijo comienza a las 7:50 a.m. y termina a las 3:00 p.m. diariamente (1:25 los miércoles). Es importante que usted se
adhiere a las normas de supervisión y haga planes para dejar y recoger sus hijos de una manera oportuna.
