HUNGER WALK NEWS: The 2nd Annual
“Hunger Walk” is Saturday, March 12. The Cooperating Christian Churches of Oroville raised over $9,000
last year and gave it all to four Oroville area ministries
that feed the hungry of Oroville throughout the year.
This year our goal is $18,000. That means we need
more walkers, more sponsors, and more support. But
mostly it means more of us can respond positively and
say, “Lord, we saw you hungry, and gave you to eat.”
Starting this weekend forms needed to participate are
available in the entryway, for sponsors, pledges, and
donations. Please mark your calendar now, and start
your efforts to help.
Caring For Women Omelet Breakfast: The
fundraising breakfast will be held on Saturday, March
5th from 7 AM—11AM at the Oroville Evangleical
Free Church, 3785 Olive Highway. The breakfast includes a ham & cheese omelet, hash browns, homemade biscuits, and a drink. Tickets are $6 in advance,
$7 at the door for adults, and $4 for children aged 6-12.
No charge for children 5 and under. Homemade cinnamon rolls and pancakes are also available for $1 each.
For tickets stop by the Parish Office, or call the Center
at 533-8388.
Scripture Study: Scripture Study will resume
March 10 with the Story of Israel, Part 2. We welcome
everyone; you didn't have to study Part I to begin Part
2! This is a seven week course convening each Thursday through April 21, at 1:30 PM in the parish library. Please treat yourself this Lenten Season and join
us!
Tax Letters: Anyone needing a tax letter for 2010
from St Thomas regarding donations—please call the
Parish Office and leave your name and current mailing
address. We will be processing all requests and mailing
the letters out to you.
GOHC News: The regular monthly meeting of the
Greater Oroville Homeless Coalition will take place
Tuesday, February 15th, from 5:15 to 6:15pm in the
staff conference room at Behavioral Health, 18 County
Center Drive. All are welcome to attend and learn
more about what the Coalition does to help folks get
into permanent housing or not lose their housing. For
more information, directions or a ride, contact Sally
Gibson 589-3678 .
