St. Clement’s Future
Changing hearts.
Many hearts at St. Clement’s are united to the
Lord and dedicated to Him. But many are not.
Some are divided hearts. Others are wayward
hearts. “Every way of a man is right in his own
eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart.”
“For this people’s
heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear,
and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their
eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart
and turn, and I would heal them.”
“For the word
of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of
marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the
heart.”
Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who
walk according to the law of the LORD.”
“The one who
has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.”
“Do not conform to the pattern of
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—

Summer mass attendance is just one of the ways that we see hearts and who truly
loves the Lord with “all their heart.”
It also is revealed by how we live Monday through Saturday.
This summer we are seeing and hearing of a lot of “hardened
hearts.”
A spiritual resistance or spiritual numbness
(apathy) that is sad and troubling. People that know they are not
in the right place spiritually, but also reluctant or unwilling to
change. Some who are struggling morally, but do not wish to
stop or repent. “‘How often do we tell ourselves: I must
change, I cannot continue like this. On this path, my life will
not bear fruit. It will be a useless life, and I will not be happy.’”

Spiritual Fitness Test
How much time to you give to the spiritual dimension of your
life? Ask yourself these questions:

Cambiando Corazones.
Muchos corazones en San Clemente están unidos
al Señor y dedicados a él. Pero muchos no lo son.
Algunos son corazones divididos. Otros son los
corazones caprichosos.
"Cada uno considera buenos los caminos que han
tomado, pero el Señor pesa los corazones."
"El corazón de
este pueblo se ha endurecido. Se han tapado los oídos y cerrado
los ojos; tienen miedo de ver con sus ojos y de oír con sus oídos,
pues entonces comprenderían y se convertirían, y yo los sanaría."

La asistencia a misa en el Verano es sólo una de las formas que
vemos corazones y quien ama realmente al Señor con "todo su

un montón de "corazones endurecidos."
Una resistencia
espiritual o adormecimiento espiritual (apatía) que es triste y preocupante. Las personas que saben que no están en el lugar correcto espiritualmente, sino también reacios o no están dispuestos a
cambiar. Algunos de los que están luchando moralmente, pero que
no desean dejar o arrepentirse. "'¿Cuántas veces nos decimos a
