requeridos para la Construcción del Centro de Cómputo y el Cableado Estructurado de la
Nueva Sede del Instituto Nacional de Estadística de la República Bolivariana de

This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that
appeared in Development Business, issue No. 699 on March 31, 2007

Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) has signed contract Nº 1831/OC-VE, with
República Bolivariana de Venezuela in order to finance project “Fortalecimiento del INE
como ente rector del SEN”, who's executor is Instituto Nacional de Estadística and it is
administered by United Nations Development Programme, and it intends to apply part of the
proceeds of this contract in Adquisición de Bienes y Servicios requeridos para la
Construcción del Centro de Cómputo y el Cableado Estructurado de la Nueva Sede del
Instituto Nacional de Estadística.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has signed with INE, Project
Document Nº 40326, identified as “Fortalecimiento al Instituto Nacional de Estadística
(INE), específicamente en las áreas Administrativa y Gerencial“, in order to execute
activities for the “Fortalecimiento del Instituto Nacional de Estadística como ente rector del
Sistema Estadístico Nacional”, Project. Hence, United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP) invites all eligible bidders, to present sealed offers for the Adquisición de Bienes y
Servicios requeridos para la Construcción del Centro de Cómputo y el Cableado
Estructurado de la Nueva Sede del Instituto Nacional de Estadística.

Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB)
procedures specified in the Inter-American Development Bank’s Policies for the Procurement
of Works and Goods financed by the Inter-American Development Bank, and is open to all
bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Policies.

Qualifications requirements are specified in the bidding documents. There will be no
margin of preference for eligible national contractors. Additional details are provided in the
Bidding Documents.

from the date of this publication, participation rights may be purchased by interested bidders
on the submission of a written Application to the address below, and upon payment of a non
refundable fee of One hundred dollars of the United States of America (US$ 100,00) The
method of payment will be:

For local bidders: Deposit in Bolívares al Banco Provincial, Cuenta Corriente N°:


For foreign bidders: Deposit or electronic transfer in US Dollars thru Bank of

Bids must be delivered to the address below, at or before 2:00 PM on Monday,
September 21th 2009. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Bids will be opened in the
presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below, at
2:05 PM on Monday, September 21th 2009. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid
Security of 2% of the total offered amount or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency.
