Kazan, Tatarstan Russian Federation 23-27 April 2014 Euro 30,- per player in single. Euro 50,- per pair in double events. The entry fees are payable after receipt of the invoice. Entries Badminton Europe will conduct the entry using the following timetable: 27 February 2014 – Deadline for Member Associations to confirm whether or not eligible players/pairs will enter. 3 March 2014 – Deadline for Member Association to confirm whether or not 2nd phase players/pairs will enter. 6 March 2014 – Final deadline for Member Associations to confirm entries. 7 March 2014 – Badminton Europe will announce Wild Card entries (if applicable) The eligible players/pairs will be determined by Badminton Europe as per the regulations for the European Championships, therefore there will be no entry form as such. Eligibility Date The BWF World Ranking list of 20 February 2014 shall be used for deciding eligibility for the European Championships. Eligibility The BWF World Ranking list of the “Eligibility Date” shall be used to allocate places in the European Championships. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ A Confederation of Badminton World Federation Regulations 3.2.3 to 3.2.6 in Badminton Europe’s “Appendix A: European Championships” shall be considered in turn until a total of 48 players in each of the singles events and 32 doubles pairs in each of the doubles events are allocated, or the entries have been exhausted. (Click here) Seeding date The seeding will be announced on Friday 4 April 2014 using the World Ranking list published day before. Draw date The draw will be conducted on Tuesday 8 April 2014 and can be seen live on Badminton Europe’s Youtube Channel. Shuttles Yonex AS-50 Stringing Badminton Europe’s official event sponsor and equipment supplier, Yonex, will provide a stringing service throughout the whole event. Regulations The Tournament will be played in accordance with the regulations of the Confederation as laid down in Appendix I (Regulations for European Championships) and the Laws and Regulations as adopted by the Badminton World Federation. The European Championships will be played as a knock out competition. Clothing and advertising Clothing and advertising will be permitted in accordance with the regulations of the Confederation as laid down in Appendix I (Regulations for European Championships). In doubles it is mandatory for doubles partners to wear the same colour. From quarter finals onwards, it is mandatory that opposing players and pairs wear different colours from each other. It is mandatory that the name of the player shall appear on the back of the shirt. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ www.badmintoneurope.com 2 It is optional whether the name of the player’s association/country shall appear on the back of the shirt. The Referee is instructed to pay particular attention to uphold these regulations on clothing. In applying regulations on clothing and designs and advertising on players’ clothing the decision of the Referee shall be final. Anti-doping testing According to the existing law in Russia anti-doping testing will be executed on a random basis during the tournament. Insurance Any medical treatment necessary away from the sports hall (e.g. at hotels or hospitalisation due to serious illness or injury) is at the players or officials own expense. It is recommended that associations of players or individual participants cover these risks by medical insurance. Team Managers’ Meeting The Team Managers’ Meeting will be held Tuesday 22 April 2014 at 20.00 in Gymnastics Center Kazan. All participating associations must be present at the meeting. Transportation to Kazan Participants must fly to Kazan International Airport from where pick-up in organized. Kazan International Airport can be reached directly from Istanbul Ataturk Airport. If participants are not coming from Istanbul, Kazan International Airport can be reached by flying in transit through St. Petersburg or Moscow. VERY IMPORTANT – luggage! If participants are flying to Kazan through either St. Petersburg or Moscow, they must claim their luggage here and check it in to their flight towards Kazan. The luggage will not be automatically sent all the way to Kazan. This is due to domestic rules in the Russian Federation where domestic flights are taken into use. On the return flight, the luggage will be automatically forwarded to the international connection when reaching St. Petersburg or Moscow. Visa Application It is the responsibility of any nation or player needing a visa to travel to the Russian Federation to make sure that visa applications are made not later than 7 March 2014. Organisers are unable to send supporting letters at a late stage and Embassies are no longer prepared to issue “last minute” visas. A practice booking form is published on the official tournament web site seen above. During the event, a practice hall will be available. A practice form for the practice hall is also published on the official tournament web site. Deadline for sending in your practice booking form is 3 April 2014. Medal ceremonies All medals will be presented on Sunday 27 April 2014 after the respective finals.
